TGIF!

Fridays always make me smile! Even when it was a 4 day work week, and I only worked 3 days! Still seemed somewhat a long week!
This weekend is jammed packed! We going to pick paint colors for the house tomorrow morning. Then we have to go to Academy so I can get some Soffee shorts for the river next weekend. Saturday evening we are meeting one of my friends from back home affectionately known as "Ritter" (her real name is Jessica, but back when we were 18 and met, I knew so many Jessica's, I called her by her last name.) We're going to one of my favorite pizza places, Frank & Angie's. Yum!! Afterwards, we're meeting Eric's sister & her husband for drinks. Sunday is cleaning and packing boxes all day!
We've decided to wait a week after we close to move in. The weekend right after we close on the house, we're going to paint the formal dining, formal living room, Bella's room, & our master bedroom. That way we have a week to let the paint fumes go away before having to live in it! I am truly excited to know that in 3 weeks we're moving into our dream home!
Have a great weekend!!

Day Off

Yesterday ended up becoming a day off of work for me. I did go to work and was there for about an hour before Bella's school called and said she wasn't feeling well. So I hurried and got her. She definitely wasn't herself, and her head was warm, so we went home and relaxed on the couch with Phinneas & Ferb cartoons and lots of water to drink. She seemed to feel better after her nap and wasn't running a fever, so we played and colored. Eric's mom came to get her at 3 so she could watch her today if she still wasn't feeling well. Eric had a meeting after work and got home around 8:30, which allowed me time to pack some boxes from Bella's room.
After he got home, we went to Mel's for a bit and then headed to Jardin Corona for some dinner. There was a teenage birthday party there, so we quickly ate and left. (Just not wanting to hear yelling all night on a Wednesday!) It was a fabulous day, and it's already Thursday!! Gotta love 4 day work weeks!!

The Dream Continues!

We got the inspection on the house back last night and everything looks good! Inspection day is so stressful, because your waiting to hear what's wrong with your dream home. Of course he found little cosmetic things, but overall everything looks great!! Eric & I are relieved and more excited than ever to move into our Dream Home! It's such a great feeling!!
So I decided to start a small blog on my favorite things. I'm not a fashion designer, purse designer, or international chef, just a mom to a toddler that still likes the good things in life... great makeup, great jeans, flip-flops, and cooking every night for my family. So go over and check it out when you get a chance! This blog is still my baby and will be updated much more often, so no worries!

It's Coming Up...

Can I just say that I am super excited about Eric's birthday party next weekend?! We have a little over a week left and I am wishing it was this weekend. Probably because we are tubing with Zach & Audrey beforehand, also because there are so many friends we haven't seen in forever coming! It's going to be a good day!
Tubing the Comal, bbqing for the last time on our beloved patio, having drinks with friends, and celebrating my hubby turning 28! Can't get better than this!!
Update on House:
Inspection went well!! We're on our way to moving into our dream home!! :D

Great Memorial Weekend!

We had so much fun this past weekend! My Dad & Mary came up Saturday early afternoon, which allowed us to run some errands beforehand. The shoes I talked about in an earlier post did not fit Bella very well, so we took those back, went to Target and got her some bright pink Converse. She LOVES them! And they are totally adorable on her! We made it back in time for Bella to take a quick nap before Papa & Mary arrived, so when they got there she was in a great mood. We ended up taking them to HEB (they don't have those in the DFW area, and my Dad loves that store!) and then went to look at our new house. They loved the house, which made me very happy! Afterwards, we ate at one of our favorite restaurants, Gumbo's. It was awesome! The funniest thing being that it's a romantical dimly lit restaurant, and Bella decided to say very loudly, "I need to Poop Mommy!!" I ran her to the restroom, while everyone around us laughed!
Sunday we woke up, had breakfast and headed to San Antonio. We got there and it was sunny and hot! We went to the Alamo and saw our name in it. Dad hasn't seen that before, so it was neat! We then went across the street to the Riverwalk, and decided to eat at an Irish Pub. Great food and drinks, and then got ready to go when it started down pouring! So we ordered another drink and decided to wait it out. Bella fell asleep on me for about 30 minutes and when the weather cleared, we headed back home. Dinner was the best! Mary made bbq'd shrimp, which was delicious!
Monday (Memorial Day) Dad & Mary had breakfast before heading home. We decided to take Bella to Grandma & Grandpa's where we had awesome fajitas & bbq. All in all, a great weekend!!
Today is the inspection on the house. We're a little worried, but hoping nothing is too bad!! Will keep updating when possible!
Have a great 4 day work week!

I Can Finally Post About the House!

I didn't want to jinx anything, so I wasn't going to post until we were in contract for the house.

Here is a picture of our NEW HOME!! We are so excited!! We should be moving in around mid-June. It's in the same school district that we want Bella to be in, plus it's close to her daycare, so she doesn't have to start at a new one!
It's our dream home, and I can't wait to move in!

Will post more pictures soon!

Happy 3 Day Weekend!

I am so excited for this coming weekend. My Dad & Mary are coming, we're all going to see the new house, going to San Antonio on Sunday, and just letting them enjoy their time with Bella. Thank goodness for 3 day weekends, because it's been since January since we had a day off. That's way to long, and this weekend is much needed!

Tonight we're staying home to clean the house before they get here tomorrow. Bella stayed with Grandma last night, so Eric & I went to Maki for dinner (YUM!) and then went to get Bella some new tennis shoes. We're trying to go for nightly walks with her & her feet have grown a lot lately, so it is much needed! How cute are these?! Love them for her!

Happy Friday, have a great long weekend!

Forgot about updating on the house: We got the home of our dreams!! We're both so excited and ready to close and move in! More to come...

Proud Mamma

Last night for the 1st time ever, Bella went potty at home!! I was so excited and proud of her. She got gummies afterwards as a reward. Eric & I just cheered and hugged her and couldn't stop telling her what a big girl she is!
After dinner I went over to Mel's house to see her & Michael and get some boxes from them. It was so great to catch up and see her sonogram pictures of the little bambino! She finds out very soon if they are having a boy or girl. I told her I want her to have a boy so Eric & I can live vicariously through them! We had a lot of fun and when I got back Bella was sleeping in our bed while Eric was getting to relax infront of the computer.
**American Idol Spoiler Alert!**
I was so happy & excited that Kris won American Idol last night!! I think Adam is a great singer and honestly I'm not worried in the least that he won't do great in his career, but I must say, Kris can sing! I love his ability to change songs and make them his own. Way to go Kris, Way to go!

Wow, What a Night

I don't want to get into the house thing too much, but let's just say for now, that we had a change of heart. I will talk more about it soon, just don't want to jinx anything!

So last night we went with Eric's parents to Mesa Rosa, and Bella did great! She looked adorable in her pigtails & cute outfit! After dinner we walked around the patio and let her look at the kitty that was lounging around (without touching! I am not a cat person!) We went home & Bella was fast asleep! It was a nice night and yet still very stressful / nervous night.
Sorry for being so vague...

Bella @ Mesa Rosa last night! (See I do take pictures of my girl!)

Waiting...

Update on the house... Still Waiting! Ugh hate waiting, if you can't tell, I'm not a very patient person, and this is stressing me to the max!
So last night was a normal night in the Munoz household. I made dinner before Eric got home from work, then Eric & Bella went for a walk around the neighborhood before it got dark, and I watched the season finale of Gossip Girl & One Tree Hill. Can I just say I was disappointed to say the least? GG was good in the fact there were a few twists in the finale. OTH which by the way is one of my favorite shows, was boring!! It's like they tied everything into a cute little bow to end the season. No cliffhangers, no OMG's, nothing. Boring and disappointing.
I am super excited about this coming weekend! I know I've posted already about it, but I can't wait to see my Dad, and for Bella to see Papa & Mary again. Plus we haven't been to San Antonio in almost a year, so Bella will love it! Downside... It's only Tuesday!!

Just Saying...

I have the MOST adorable and smart little girl in the world!! She learned a song called "Baby Bumble Bee" in class on Friday and was able to sing it to us all weekend. Plus she showed us who Spiderman is, eventhough we've never told her who he was before. She also loves counting and can count to 10!! Yes that's right she can count to 10, and she's only 2! She also sees a Longhorn logo somewhere and says "Hook 'Em Horns!" and makes the hand symbol! Talk about a smartie!! She is destined for UT!!
I know, I know I haven't posted any pictures of her lately, I will take some tonight and this week and post asap! She has really grown and thinned out! We put her in a swing Sunday that we used to hold her up in, and she fit perfectly! Swinged all by herself! Now that's talent people!!

What a Nice Weekend!

Saturday, we drove around the area looking at houses for sale. We actually found quite a few we can look at just incase the house we have a bid on falls through. We'll know more by tomorrow. We also went on walks around the neighborhood and let Bella run like crazy. She loved it! Eric's parents' called and asked if they could watch Bella Saturday night since they hadn't seen her in a week. So we abliged and they came to get her Saturday afternoon. Saturday night we had a date night and it was a blast! We went to the Alamo Draft House and watched "Angels & Demons" which was fantastic, plus got to drink wine (me) & beer (Eric) while eating dinner and watching the movie all together. We loved it!

Sunday we cleaned house, did yard work, and went grocery shopping all before Bella came home. When she got here, we went to Lowe's and Best Buy, did some more walking, and just had a fun relaxing day! It was a good weekend!

This weekend coming my Daddy & Mary are coming to visit. We're all going to the Riverwalk in San Antonio on Sunday. Probably stop by the Alamo to see our family name (Yes there was a Badillo who fought for TEXAS in the Alamo!!) and just have a lot of fun. I am so excited to have them come back and visit again. Bella misses both of them like crazy! So happy Monday! Let's hope it's a good week!

Update on House & Happy Friday!

We got the inspection back and let's just say it wasn't pretty. Without getting into everything, there are afew things that have to be fixed and/or replaced before we will move in. So now the ball is in their court & we'll have to wait to see what happens. We're in limbo until Tuesday.
Last night I had a huge coughing fit and couldn't stop, so I decided to sleep in the guest room so Eric & Bella could get a good night's sleep. I usually never sleep anywhere but my own bed in my own house, so sleeping on the guest bed was different. Mainly because it's a full sized bed (which will magically turn into a queen next weekend when my Daddy comes and brings us a new bed!) and the fan is so loud in that room! I did end up sleeping really well, until Eric came in and said it was 6:33 a.m. and the alarm never went off! We always get up at 6 a.m. on weekdays to get Bella and ourselves ready for work. This morning we rushed to get dressed and all and ran out of the house. I was only 10 minutes late!! Go me!
Last rambling of the day... Did anyone watch Grey's last night?!?!?!
SPOILER ALERT!!
I cannot believe the guy was George! When he wrote 007 on Meredith's hand, I started balling. And Izzie finally starting to get her short term memory back and then dying?! All of it really got to me and I was a blubbering mess! Way to go Grey's, that was one of the best finales EVER!

I-Day

Today is inspection day on the new house. The day where I sit and worry that something major is wrong with the house until I hear otherwise. The day that I keep looking at the clock to see when 10 a.m. rolls around to know the inspection has started, and then watch the clock until 1 p.m. when it should be ending. Hopefully by 2 p.m. I will hear the analysis of the house and hopefully will be able to start breathing again!
This weekend we're planning on having a family relaxation weekend. We have nothing planned, which rarely happens in our house. I can't wait! I'll update the inspection information this afternoon, keep your fingers crossed!!

Stress, Lack of Sleep, and Buying a House All in One...

So these past 2 weeks have been especially tough on us. Bella is in this stage where she HAS to sleep with us every night or else she cries forever. So we bring her in bed, and ultimately she ends up punching me in the face and kicking me in the back all night. Makes for a horrible night's sleep. Add on the stress at work and trying to get everything in order to buy a house, and you have one stressed out, exhausted, ready to crawl in bed & cry Mommy!

Don't get me wrong, I am so happy & proud to be Bella's Mommy and we are so happy to be able to buy our dream home, but it's all a little much right now. I wake up a zombie, almost fall asleep every morning on my way to work, and always have a headache by the time I leave work.
We're praying her sleeping habits change quickly and that everything goes okay and flows smoothely with the new house. Keeping you updated...
Update:
Looking back now, I have to say that no matter how stressed out or exhausted I am, I know I am blessed! I have a wonderful husband, beautiful, brilliant daughter, loving family and friends. I am praying for Kayleigh's family today as she went to be with God. She was born prematurely and was in NICU for 11 months before going home to the Lord. Please help me today in praying for her and her family. I cannot imagine what they must be going through.

Going Overboard!

I am starting to think that I am going overboard on the new house. We haven't even gotten the keys yet, and I already know what colors we're painting the kitchen, the master bedroom, and Bella's room. Plus I've decided on a new coffee and end table for the living room and for some new decorations and how the living room will look once we're all moved in and set! Whew that is a lot now that I'm typing it out, but it's totally me to plan wayyyy ahead! I always know exactly what's going on every weekend (which is a must anyway if you're a Mommy!), and now with the house I am getting ahead of myself! It's just so easy to see how you want the house to look inside your head, and have it finally come to life.
Okay I'm starting to babble, but just know that I cannot be more excited and nervous about buying a house. This is our 2nd house to own, but because it's the 1st since we had Bella, we feel like 1st time homeowners all over again!
Did I mention that I am now addicted to HGTV?! Property Virgins, 1st Time Home Owners, Etc. I can't get enough!!

Mother's Day Weekend

It kinda sucked.... I did get a nice little gift card from Eric & Bella to Sephora, and a sweet card from his parents. Our family just felt "off" this whole weekend. Maybe because of buying the house stress, maybe from the lack of sleep due to Bella waking up every morning at 2 a.m. sharp screaming until she gets to come sleep in our bed, etc. We just kept getting upset at each other and Bella kept acting out in public.
Mother's Day was nice though. Eric & Bella woke me up promptly at 8 a.m. with a "Happy Mother's Day!!!" We then proceeded to go grocery shopping where every husband was getting flowers for their wives. Afterwards we went to Michaels to get a apothecary jar. They had one left, and while trying to figure out which fruit would look good in it, Eric happened to break it. Yeah that's how the entire weekend went...
We did end on a good note, he took me to Maki for sushi lunch, which was yummy. Then we went to his parents to celebrate with his mom, had a wonderful dinner and went to his basketball court on the side of his parents' house to let him and Bella play. We all had a beer, and relaxed in the breeze of the evening. Just wonderful!!
I am so happy to be a Mommy to Bella. Eventhough it wasn't the best weekend we've ever had, she still made me smile a dozen times this weekend. She truly is the light of our lives, and I'm so proud to be her Momma!
To all my friends and family that are Moms or about to be... I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!
Update on the new house: We went Saturday morning and decided on all the paint colors, found a new coffee table for the living room, and the lights we want for the kitchen and entry. We got approved for the loan, and the inspection is Wednesday morning!

We Got the House!

They accepted our offer and we got the house!! Next week is inspections, and getting our loan going, and we're set! Tomorrow we're going to Lowe's to look at paint for our kitchen, bedroom, and Bella's room. We're so excited and happy!!
Sunday is also my 3rd Mother's Day. I don't know the plans mostly for the day, since Eric is planning it, but I am happy to have a day off and to rest and relax from all the stress we've been under this week. So for all mom's... HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! We deserve it!

We Found the House!

Last night we were looking at houses in our neighborhood with our realtor, when Eric's mom said she had found a cute one a few streets down. We drive over, get out, and she realizes this wasn't the house she saw. It was for sale, so we figured we'd look inside anyway since it was empty. It was love at first sight! Gorgeous house, beautiful patio, has everything we want. And the great thing, it had just gone on the market THAT DAY! So we put a bid in last night and think we're going to get it! Please help in praying for us over the next few weeks!

Bad Update Unfortunately!

So on my way home from work last night, our realtor calls and tells us that someone put a bid on that exact house the night before we did!! Are you kidding me?! After 5 months of being on the market, we were a few hours too late?
So, Eric & I decided it was obviously not meant to be our house. So, we're back at square 1 again looking at houses we like online and going with the realtor to actually see if they work for us. Keep you fingers crossed! It's a hard road to buy a house, but through all the blood, sweat, & tears, we will get there!

Bidding On A House!

On Saturday we went out and looked at 15 houses around our neighborhood and in Round Rock area. We love the house we're in now, but we're growing out of it. All of Bella's toys are in the dining room, and now she has a full size bed which barely fits in her room. We're looking at a 2 story house with a game room. That way she has plenty of space to play in, plus we can put our foosball table and Playstation for the adults!

We found 2 houses we love, and decided on one to put a bid on. It's a little more than we want to spend, so we'll see how low the seller will go. If they don't get to what we want to spend, then we have house 2 to bid on. We're really excited at the prospect of owning our own house again and finding a home that Bella can grow up in! Wish us luck!!

Our Silly Goose!

I don't post enough about my daughter and how adorable she is, so here is another one. She is fiercely independant until she gets sleepy and then it's back to being 2 again and wanting Mommy & Daddy to hold her until she falls asleep. Our nickname for her (one of many) is Silly Goose. We call her that everytime she does anything remotely funny. For instance, last night we went to Eric's parents' house for dinner. She had so much fun over there like always, and when we were leaving we got her into her car seat and she was waving and saying "Bye Bye Grandma & Grandpa" and all of a sudden she says "Shake your BOOTY!!" Eric & I stopped and just busted out laughing. We don't know where she picked that up from, but it was hilarious! She loves to make us laugh so she kept saying it over and over on the ride home.
Last night was the 1st night she actually went to bed in her own bed without us and slept the entire night on her own. She used to do this every night, but for the last 2 weeks that she has been on antibiotics, she doesn't go to bed on time and wakes up every night and comes to our room. I am hoping it was due to her medicine and now that she is finished and healthy, it will go back to normal. Hoping is the key word here!
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
